UPCOMING

March 13, 2010, 1-3 p.m. / Poetry Boot Camp
Poetry Boot Camp is a generative workshop, meaning you will be not only inspired to write but also provided time to write. Sample poems will lead to writing prompts on which students will work in short bursts. Expect to come away with six to eight early drafts (or at least beginnings): new, raw material for you to polish once you get home. The workshop will take place at East Line Books in Clifton Park, New York. (Visit the website for information and directions.) Register early! All participants will be invited to return to East Line Books on a subsequent afternoon to read a poem they started at Poetry Boot Camp during a reading featuring class instructors.

About the instructors: As writing buddies, Jill Crammond-Wickham and Carolee Sherwood challenge each other as often as possible, working in tandem for inspiration, productivity and accountability. In addition to being published poets, they are co-editors of the international poetry journal Ouroboros Review and senior contributors to the social networking site and online magazine Read Write Poem. The pair is also active locally, serving as co-presidents for the Hudson Valley Writers Guild and attending various open mics.
