another opens

August 16, 2009

When one door closes another opens. Although I really, really hate that phrase, I have to admit it’s appropriate. As I was moving out of my art studio, I received an inquiry from Jo: “Would you and Jill be interested in helping with Ouroboros*?”

Uh? Of course!!! As Jill says in her post about it, she’s been wanting us to do a journal together forever. And now we have that chance.

Better than that chance. We get to work with Jo on a beautiful, international magazine that’s already established. When Christine had to leave to work on MFA stuff, Jo needed some extra hands on deck. I’m so honored she thought of us. So honored.

Send us good wishes. And blessings to Jo — who has to put up with training newbies. Newbies are always difficult in the beginning. You always have to put more work into them than you get in return. May our learning curve be tolerable!

And may this (sometime) mean a trip to Europe someday for yours truly. You know, meeting of the minds. Some sort of crisis that will only be solved over many pints at the pub. Must. Get. Passport.
