poem #5 for the challenge

October 11, 2009

I had hoped to do some sort of series with these body poems (for the October Poetry Mini-challenge at Read Write Poem, but they keep coming randomly instead. This one is about the body as vessel. There’s a shipwreck (of course). And a bottle (of course). I say “of course” because I take the metaphors for “ship” and “bottle” too far in it. But it’s just a draft. I’ll pull out the weeds when I revise. Which I don’t (of course) do during the writing phase.

Anyway, I just posted #5 of 7 at “i am maureen” (leave a comment here if you need the password).
