napowrimo #22

April 22, 2010

The #22 is one of the sexiest-looking numbers, don’t you think? That has nothing to do with anything except that it’s NaPoWriMo Day 22! Only eight more to go after today.

Today’s draft is written to the Poetic Asides prompt: Write an earth poem.

..DRAFT /

REMOVED BY THE AUTHOR FOR REVISION.

///

It’s possible this could be strengthened by switching to the first person POV (poet as astronaut, or something).

Tally: 24.0 = 7.0 RWP + 14.0 PAD + 3.0 Book of Kells. (Target is now 32.)

    A wonderful meditation on… well, I was going to say “attraction” or “gravity”, but it’s much more complicated than that. I think you managed to look at how we look at the Earth in a unique way.

    Nice! (in the best possible way, we do tend to overuse that word, don’t we?). I hopped on over to Big Tent Poetry and I’m looking forward to seeing how it shapes up in May.

    An impressive take on the seeming destructive love relationship we have for our planet.

    I love the idea of poet as astronaut (although I was smitten by this poem first reading).
