tuesday poetry homework (notes)
You may have noticed that Jill and I come up with lots of plans, and you may have noticed we aren’t always able to follow through. We aren’t known for being strict and rigid.
That’s why our writing plan for the summer (each day of the week has its own assignment) is more guidance than anything else. We both have strong desires to write regularly, but without a framework, it can be hard. Our summer plan provides that framework so that when we’re struggling to write (infuriated by bickering children, nursing sunburns, etc.), we will have an idea about we are “supposed to do” that day. (We’ve been working on this for nearly a week. Why is this the first you’ve heard of it from me, except this obscure clue? Reference paragraph 1.)
Tuesdays, we have declared with great authority and confidence (as outlined in the first paragraph), are for writing from an image. And so, in the post below this one, there’s a poem based on an image I found here (after Googling “insane summer mom”). Let me know if you need the password!
